PRP | Vampire Facelift Portland, OR.
The Platelet Rich Plasma facelift, also known as the ‘Vampire Facelift’ (as coined by the Kardashian’s), is a non-surgical procedure where Dr. Alison
injects PRP (Link to Info about Platelet rich plasma) into specific areas of the face in order to treat wrinkles and acne scars. PRP injections stimulate collagen production and give the patient a younger rejuvenated appearance. To achieve the best results we also use the Rejuvapen, a fractioning micro needling device. The pen consists of tiny needles that pulse up & down as the practitioner glides it over the patient’s face. Essentially it punctures the skin and pushes the PRP (or other regenerative serums) into the dermal layer.
How does platelet rich plasma work?
Platelet rich plasma promotes local tissue growth and repair of damaged tissue by releasing growth factors, which interact with the cells and stimulate cell reproduction. PRP also helps initiate new vascular supply in the tissue, which adds healthy color and evened skin tone. PRP will increase the number of stem cells in the area and the production of collagen. These benefits together make the skin appear smoother and firmer giving the patient a more youthful look.
Blood is collected. About 2-4 vials of blood are drawn on the day of the procedure.
A centrifuge is then used to separate plasma and platelets from the red blood cells.
PRP is extracted and mix with a vitamin rich serum to activate the cells.
A topical numbing cream is applied to the patient’s face to reduce any discomfort from needling.
The platelet rich plasma is then spread onto the patient’s face. The Rejuvapen is then used to push the PRP into the skin and glides freely and easily over the tissue.
PRP is applied with either the Rejuvapen and/ or injection. The Rejuvapen pushes the PRP into the dermal layer. The remaining PRP can be injected into specific areas of the patient’s face that need the most improvement such as to increase volume, decrease lines, and improve acne scarring.
