How does platelet rich plasma work?
Platelet rich plasma promotes local tissue growth and repair of damaged tissue by releasing growth factors, which interact with the cells and stimulate cell reproduction. PRP also helps initiate new vascular supply in the tissue, which adds healthy color and evened skin tone. PRP will increase the number of stem cells in the area and the production of collagen. These benefits together make the skin appear smoother and firmer giving the patient a more youthful look.
PRP is considered to be the latest and greatest technological procedure for Non-Surgical Facelifts, it is also used for a variety of issues like Acne Scarring, Hair Loss, Joint Pain and Wrinkle Reduction. Dr. Alison offers free 15 minute consults to ensure PRP treatments are going to be effective for your needs.
Nonsurgical face-lifts are also known as vampire facelifts by the Kardashians is a procedure where Dr. Alison utilizes platelet rich plasma (PRP) to induce your collagen production which will result in tighter and firmer skin. This procedure uses microneedling to create small microscopic channels in the epidermal skin layer. Microneedling itself induces your skin to produce more collagen and elastin as well. By adding the PRP to this procedure the results are enhanced, as PRP provides concentrated growth factors to stimulate skin repair and encourage the healing response. With this method, fine lines and wrinkles are reduced, acne scars are improved, the skin is tighter, and stretch marks disappear.
Dr. Alison is trained in collagen induction therapy or CIT. The device she uses for PRP is a microneedling instrument called a Rejuvapen. The Rejuvapen stamps small 1mm channels into the epidermal skin layer. Dr. Alison then uses a variety of serums that are tailored to your particular concern, and when needed, PRP is especially useful in eradicating acne scars. There is no damage done to the dermis so there is no downtime and patients get all the results of a laser treatment at a fraction of the cost!

Blood is collected. About 2-4 vials of blood are drawn on the day of the procedure.
A centrifuge is then used to separate plasma and platelets from the red blood cells.
PRP is extracted and mix with a vitamin rich serum to activate the cells.
A topical numbing cream is applied to the patient’s face to reduce any discomfort from needling.
The platelet rich plasma is then spread onto the patient’s face. The Rejuvapen is then used to push the PRP into the skin and glides freely and easily over the tissue.
PRP is applied with either the Rejuvapen and/ or injection. The Rejuvapen pushes the PRP into the dermal layer. The remaining PRP can be injected into specific areas of the patient’s face that need the most improvement such as to increase volume, decrease lines, and improve acne scarring.
