Wart Removal in Portland, OR.
Warts are small, rough, and hard growths that are similar in color to the pigmentation of the rest of the skin. Common warts typically do not have any derivative symptoms other than when they arise on the feet where they can cause a painful sensation similar to walking on small stones or pebbles.
Warts are harmless and can occur on any part of the body. The appearance of warts depends on their location. Warts that appear on the palms of the hands or bottoms of the feet (plantar warts) grow in due to continuous pressure. In other areas that are afflicted with warts, they have a tendency to protrude.
Are Warts Contagious?
Wart Viruses are contagious. Warts can spread by coming in contact with a wart, or something that touched the wart. Anyone can get warts, but some people are more prone to acquiring the HPV virus than others. These particular individuals are normally those who bite their nails or pick at hangnails, as well as those with weakened immune systems. In children, warts often go away on their own without medical intervention. A dermatologist should treat warts that hurt, bother, or multiply swiftly.
How Are Warts Treated?
Treatment of warts depends on their size, location, and duration. At Cascade, our normal treatment is with the Ellman Radio Frequency. Our goal is to remove your wart with the least amount of scarring possible to bring your skin back to normal.
RF Technology – radiofrequency wart removal uses a device called an Ellman electrode loop to gently shave the wart away layer by layer from the skin surface. This type of technology is the best option for minimal scarring.
“AMAZING WORK. I didn’t feel a thing and he was very friendly and professional. I felt well informed on the procedure and after care. I would highly recommend to anyone considering a mole removal. I’ve had one on my chin ever since I could remember, it made me so insecure but I assumed it would be a big deal to take off. I was literally in the chair 15 min and didn’t feel anything. I am SO HAPPY with my decision and coming to this office. I may update after the healing process. THANK YOU SO MUCH Dr Muncrief!!”

Is Wart Removal Painful?
Wart Removal at Cascade is typically not as painful as you might think.
Before the procedure, the area is cleaned and injected with a local anesthetic (often lidocaine) into the tissue surrounding the mole or skin tag. This numbs the area for about an hour so you don’t feel the mole or skin tag being excised. The procedure itself is quick and a topical hemostatic is used to stop bleeding. Average procedure time is about 15-20 minutes.
