Kybella™ is a great solution for people that are bothered or unhappy with excessive fat under their chin. Many people that seek Kybella™ treatments have battled this chin fat with good exercise and proper eating but still, the excessive chin fat does not go away. The chin fat often makes people look older and/or heavier than they actually are.
Kybella™ is a prescription medicine for adults to minimize chin fat below the chin, often called the “double chin”. The active ingredient in Kybella™ is a synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.
How Many Kybella™ Treatments Will I Need?
The number of Kybella™ treatments needed varies from patient to patient since everyone’s chin profile is different. Our healthcare provider at Cascade will discuss with you the number of treatments needed during your free in person consultation. Each Kybella™ treatment are spaced at 1 month apart and you should not receive more than 6 treatments.
How Many Kybella™ Treatments Will I Need?
After receiving Kybella™ treatments you will likely have some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin. Be sure to inform your healthcare professional at Cascade Medical Spa if you develop an uneven smile, facial muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing or injection site problems such as bruising, hair loss, open sores (ulcers), and damage and tissue cell-death (necrosis) around the injection site. Call your healthcare provider if you develop open sores or drainage from the treatment area.
