Tired of the Endless Cycle of Shaving and Waxing?
Razors, waxing, creams, yes they all work for a moment, but the hair always comes back. Along with it comes razor burn, ingrown hairs, irritation, and the constant hassle of upkeep. For many people in Portland, traditional hair removal isn’t just time-consuming, it’s frustrating and expensive over the long run.

Portland’s Best Laser Hair Removal Providers
I am getting facial hair removal and the service is exceptionally good! I have had trouble hair for a long time that loves to resist treatment, but I am seeing results quickly and feeling very well taken care of. I would absolutely recommend Cascade Medical Spa!
Great first experience for tattoo removal. Fast, friendly and reasonably priced. I plan to come back here again.
At first I really liked this place. My friend and I have both talked about getting wrinkle relaxers for a while and this is near us both so we decided to do it. At my appointment Andrew was great. Took the time to answer all my questions, etc. After though, I realized me and my friend had different aftercare expectations given to us. Mostly relating to follow up… After my treatment I was not told about a follow up appointment in two weeks, I was not told really anything just that I can book my “next appointment online”. My friend told me they booked her two week follow up in clinic so I was kind of confused. It would make sense for anyone’s first time getting Botox (or xeomin in my case), to get a follow up… so I went online and made one not knowing it was for a time I was out of town. When I realized that, I immediately rebooked it (with plenty of notice) only to get a call the day before and be left a voicemail that said that they cannot see me since it’s been longer than the two week window AND it has to be with the person who initially did the treatment… all this would have been fine if I was told about it at my appointment and could have made plans for that… I had called them back and the person that answered the phone was less than professional… I explained why I was calling and they told me “well we are human, we all make mistakes”… it was the most unprofessional phone call I’ve ever had with a business… and I wasn’t even being rude, just trying to return a call and find out if I could get my follow up. I will unfortunately not be returning here and am going to find someplace else to go. Please be cautious….
Hands down one of the best experiences I have had! My consult with Dr. Plitt was down to earth and so kind! Christina was absolutely delightful, and so knowledgeable. I learned so much from her about wrinkle relaxers 🙂 more than anyone else anyone else I have had treatment from. The owner Forrest was so welcoming and fun to talk with! !! I am beyond thrilled about the future with Cascade medical spa!!!!
I was really impressed coming back. I had 3 treatments from previous owners but I was able to talk to the new owner on the phone, he got me scheduled right away and was easy to talk to! Sorry Forest but Christina was really the star of the show for my appointment, personable, kind and very well informed/educated. I cannot wait to continue my tattoo removal treatments here, the new owner has the right vision. If you’re looking for a place that’s going to CARE about YOU over your wallet, this is the place! Clean, Awesome, Friendly, Personable
Corey is awesome! Is it possible to have fun while being lasered? YES! Corey took the time to make sure she understood my skin and gave me aftercare info I'd never received elsewhere. Can't wait to come back for my next sesh!

How Many Laser Hair Removal Treatments Will I Need?
On average, most patients need 5 to 7 treatments, scheduled 6 to 8 weeks apart, to achieve a 70% to 90% reduction in unwanted hair.
Understanding Hair Growth Cycles & Why Multiple Sessions Are Needed
Hair grows in cycles, and multiple factors influence hair growth patterns, including age, ethnicity, hormone levels, medications, and the location of hair on the body. These factors determine the coarseness, color, and density of hair, which affects the number of laser hair removal sessions required.
Laser hair removal is most effective when targeting hair in the active growth phase (Anagen phase). Because not all hairs are in the same phase at the same time, multiple sessions are required to maximize permanent hair reduction.
- Anagen (Active Growth Phase): The best stage for laser treatment, as the hair is actively growing with the follicle fully intact. The laser effectively destroys the follicle, preventing future growth.
- Catagen (Regression Phase): The lower part of the hair stops growing, but the hair remains in place. At this stage, laser treatment is less effective.
- Telogen (Resting Phase): The hair is no longer attached to the follicle and will eventually shed naturally. Since the follicle is dormant, laser treatment does not target this phase.
By treating hair during multiple sessions, we ensure that a higher percentage of follicles are targeted at the right stage, leading to smoother, long-lasting results.
Is Laser Hair Removal Painful?
Let’s be honest: no one loves pain. But most people describe laser hair removal as more of a quick snap — like a warm rubber band flicking the skin. It’s fast, tolerable, and over before you know it.
At Cascade Medical Spa, we use the Candela GentleMax Pro, which includes a built-in cooling system to keep things as comfortable as possible. Treatments are designed to be effective without the sting, so you can get in, get out, and get on with your day.
Mild redness or swelling is totally normal and usually fades within a few hours. You can wear makeup after, go back to work, or even hit the gym — no downtime required.
Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?
Absolutely. When done right — by trained professionals using the right technology — laser hair removal is one of the safest aesthetic treatments out there.
At Cascade Medical Spa in Portland, we use the GentleMax Pro, a medical-grade system trusted for its safety across all skin tones. It targets hair at the follicle level without damaging the surrounding skin.
Side effects? Pretty minimal. You might notice some temporary redness or a little warmth afterward, but serious complications like burns or scarring are extremely rare — especially in the hands of an experienced provider. Your skin stays intact, and your confidence gets a boost.
