Laser Hair Removal
At Cascade Medical Spa, we use an 810 diode laser for hair removal. A diode laser uses semiconductor technology that produces coherent projection of light in the visible to infrared range. It uses a light beam with a narrow spectrum to target the hair follicles. Compared to other laser systems such as the Ruby and Alexandrite, the 800nm diode laser wavelength offers the deepest penetration levels and superior melanin absorption. These unique characteristics make the diode laser the most suitable technology for laser hair removal, enabling safe and effective treatment of all skin and hair types, in all body areas.
Why Choose Cascade for your laser hair removal needs?
At Cascade, our goal is to give you the long-term permanent results for your hair reduction needs. We are straight forward, down to earth and offer fair pricing for a good service.
How many treatments will I need?
Most patients require 3-10 visits. This is because only a fraction of the hairs are in a growing phase (anagen cycle). Only anagen hairs can be effectively removed with the laser because the hairs that are in the resting phase are not mature enough to target the laser light.
With our latest technology, we can now treat any skin type and hair color excluding grey or white.

Is hair removal painful?
There is some discomfort that most people compare to the snapping of a warm rubber band on the skin which is mild and tolerable. We use cold ice packs to minimize the discomfort.
After the treatment, you will likely experience redness and/or mild swelling which normally dissipates after a couple hours. Makeup can be applied not long after the treatment.
Is laser hair removal safe?
There is always a risk of permanent scarring and pigmentation change with laser treatments. With the Cutera ProWave, there is a less than a .05% possibility of the laser leaving behind a permanent scar.
It is very rare that infections occur since the skin is usually not broken.
